IRCTC Tatkal Ticket Waiting List Having Higher Priority :: Allotment Berths in Additional Coaches
Indian Railways announced that have changed the rules regarding the vacant berths of the additional coaches being attached on day to day requirements. Whenever an extra coach is attached to a particular train to clear day to day rush of wait listed passengers, vacant berths available in the extra coach shall be first offered to the tatkal waiting list passengers of that class and there after the left over vacant berths, if any, to the general waiting listed passengers of that class.

However, this provision is not applicable to the additional coaches, attached as a regular measure of temporary augmentation, for a specific duration such as summer rush. Earlier General quota passengers having higher priority.

SIR I HAD BOOKED ONE AC3 TICKET FROM IRCTC ON 7TH NOV 2012 FOR JOURNEY FROM– TVC- SHM TRAIN NO 16332 FOR 2 PASSENGER WITH WL/CURRENT STATUS 18/9 AND 19/10 . SINCE MORE TAHhan 58DAYS I AM TRACKING THE STATUS OF WL , IT IS REMAINED UN CHANGED AS ON DATE. AS A GENERAL PASSENGER I HOPE THAT IT WILL LITTLE BIT IMPROVE TOWARDS ITS CONFIRMATION , BUT NOT HAPPENED. I AM QUITE WORRIED ABOUT IT.
