Advance Reservation Period Extended From 90 Days to 120 Days
Indian Railways announced that have decided to increase the advance reservation period from 90 days to 120 days on experimental basis (excluding the date of journey) w.e.f. 10.3.2012.
Also announced that, there will be no change in case of certain day time Express Trains like Taj Express, Gomti Express, etc. where lower time limits for advance reservations are at present in force. There will also be no change in case of the limit of 360 days for foreign tourists.

If Indian railways are extending the advance reservation from 90 to 120 days. It will force people to prefer more Tatkal Reservation because no one has got a long term plan exceeding 3 months.
ReplyDeleteThis will help only Indian railways increase their earnings coz. more extra money they would get on Tatkal tickets reservation.
Every single ticket would carry an extra 200 INR on every ticket and suppose 2 persons travelling to-and-fro will end up paying 800 rupees extra on return journey.
Not fair, government is trying to squeeze every single penny from the poor Indian citizen's pocket.
VERY TRUE MR.RAJ.GOVERNMENT IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT EARNING LUCRATIVE PROFITS,NOT BOTHERING ABOUT THE COMMON PEOPLE.REALLY,EARNING FARE IN THIS WAY IS NOT FAIR.
DeleteActually this is indirect way of earning money on more cancellation.
ReplyDeleteAnd sufferer as usual is middle class traveler
when we plan for the budget for one year, why don't we make this also one year!
ReplyDeleteabolish TATKAL altogether, let people who come first, get the space
ReplyDeletedon't keep it vacant for late comers
I DO AGREE WITH Seenu. We should abolish Tatkal system. Now a days it has become impossible to take Tatkal ticket. We have to be in queue for more than 5 hours in advance to avail the ticket and thats also not sure whether we will get it or not. Also the advance reservation needs to be reduced to 60 days from current 120 days and should allow waiting list only upto that point which can be accommodated easily.
Deleteagree with vikas and seenu
ReplyDeletethe whole system seems crap..
ReplyDeleteduzn't it directly seems k d govt. z indirectly askng for a bribe from us.
